| He learned shipbuilding and came back in 1868. He served on the Minister of Engineering to make an effort to found Kobu Daigakko (the predecessor of the Department of Technology of Tokyo University) and a blind and dumb school. In 1880 he became Kobukyo. He served on the president of Japan Engineering Society for 36 years and established the foundation of our country’s industry and engineering. |
